Gently place the eggs in a pot with enough cold water to submerge the eggs completely. Bring the water to simmer and cook for 4-5 minutes.
Remove the eggs from the simmering water and serve. A perfect soft-boiled egg should have a barely solid egg white, and a warm but still runny egg yolk. Soft-boiled egg are spooned from the shell. Serve it with buttered toast, or with homemade brioche bread.
